Renesis Stellar DEX Vaults are Live on Mainnet
We just shipped our Stellar DEX Vaults to mainnet. After months of building, testing, and iterating on Soroban smart contracts, the infrastructure is live and our first pilot users are already trading through it.
Here's what we built, why it matters, and where we're going next.
The problem we're solving
If you're a fund or asset manager trying to trade on Stellar's DEX ecosystem, your options are pretty limited. You can use the existing DEX interfaces - but those are built for retail. No execution algorithms, no portfolio-level view, no way to split large orders to avoid moving the market. And if you're coming from traditional finance, the tooling gap is even wider.
On the other side, traditional portfolio management systems don't speak Stellar. They weren't built for on-chain assets, don't integrate with AMMs, and definitely don't support Soroban smart contracts.
We built Renesis Stellar DEX Vaults to sit right in that gap.
What we shipped
The core of the system is a set of non-custodial vault smart contracts on Soroban. Each vault is its own on-chain entity that holds assets and can execute trades through the Soroswap router. The important part: you always control your funds. The vault uses a role separation model where the Owner (you) controls deposits, withdrawals, and configuration, while a Trader role can be delegated for automated execution. Nobody can pull your funds except you.
On top of the vaults, we built an OrderManager contract that handles automated execution strategies. Right now we support TWAP (time-weighted average price) and VWAP (volume-weighted average price). If you're not familiar with these - they're standard institutional execution strategies that split large orders into smaller chunks over time so you don't move the market against yourself. This is pretty standard in traditional finance but it didn't exist on Stellar until now.
The execution is powered by a keeper network. Keepers are off-chain agents that watch for active orders and trigger chunk executions when conditions are met. They're incentivized through a built-in fee mechanism so the system runs itself once an order is placed.
We also shipped a full frontend at dex.renesis.fi where you can connect your Freighter wallet, deploy vaults, manage assets, execute swaps, and set up automated strategies. Plus a REST API at api.renesis.fi for anyone who wants to interact programmatically.
The documentation
We went deep on the docs this time - getting started guides, smart contract deep-dives, API references, and the keeper system architecture. We also open-sourced the smart contract codebase on GitHub.
The goal was to make this accessible not just for us and our users, but for anyone building on Stellar who wants to understand how non-custodial vault infrastructure works on Soroban. We want this to be useful for the ecosystem, not just for Renesis.
Pilot users and what's next
We've onboarded our first pilot users, including Ironcore Partners, who are actively trading on mainnet through our infrastructure. Seeing real users use the system in production has been incredibly valuable for identifying edge cases and improving the UX.
The contracts have been audited and we're working closely with a small number of users to make sure everything is solid before opening up more broadly.
We're actively looking for more pilot testers. If you're a fund, asset manager, OTC desk, or active trader on Stellar, we'd love to talk. You'd get hands-on support from our team, direct input into the product roadmap, and early access to features we're building next.
What's on the roadmap
A few things we're working toward:
We're building out LP reporting so fund administrators can generate investor reports that include on-chain Stellar positions. This is a big deal for institutional adoption because compliance and reporting requirements don't go away just because you're trading on a DEX.
As the Stellar DeFi ecosystem grows, we plan to add more DEX integrations beyond Soroswap. And we're keeping a close eye on the RWA (real-world asset) space on Stellar - as more assets get tokenized, the need for proper trading and management infrastructure only grows.
Why we built on Stellar
Stellar was a deliberate choice. Low transaction costs, fast finality, and a growing ecosystem of tokenized assets. Soroban is maturing nicely as a smart contract platform and the tooling has gotten significantly better even in the time we've been building. The Stellar Community Fund has been a great partner through this process and we're grateful for the support.

We built this because we think institutional DeFi infrastructure on Stellar is missing a critical layer. If you agree, let's talk.
